i am ashley renae. i am twenty years old. & i am a girl of mystery. i am a girl sleuth.

you could use the word "tchochke" in the same sentence as my name. as well as "kitschy." i like to scour through antique shops & envelop myself in the history. i could get lost in the labyrinth of someone else's past. i could get lost for days.

i am a bibliophile by nature, though i don't read as often as i'd like. i don't tend to read the "classics." i'm too busy making my own classics. i like to read, not to escape, but to be transported. i have a rampant imagination, i might even call it boundless. i love words. i guess you could call me a word-phile. i have a fondness for beauty. i can find beauty almost everywhere; in a dirty city & in a glossy garden; in hardcore & in mozart. i have diverse taste. eclectic. i'd like to think that this keeps me from a labelmaker. i'd like to think someone would talk to me & decide that i cannot be filed away. i don't believe most people can.

i have somewhat of a plan for my future. i'm not depending on anything or anyone. i'd like to be financially secure in my profession as a hairstylist by the time i'm twenty-five. i'd like to have my own house by the time i'm thirty. whether or not that house is shared with a husband & children or a boyfriend or a great roommate can only be determined by time & experiences. i enjoy experiences.

i like vampires & glitter. horror movies, antiques, comedy & blood. i like lace & slipper shoes. i like doing hair & cemetaries. i like being a little unexpected.

i am on a never-ending search from the GREAT DISTRACTION. i'm still not even sure what it is, but it is out there. & i will find it.
